My silver jewelry been discolored/tarnished, what now?
All our jewelry is made of 925 sterling silver. A quality of silver is that it changes color, but that is never lasting. Funny enough, not all silver pieces react the same and some pieces can show discoloration sooner than others. Even while wearing it. When you have not worn silver for a while, it can also change color. An increased psychical acidity can make silver darker. Avoid chemicals as much as possible and alway be careful with chlorine as this can give silver a temporary very dark, almost black haze. It comes down to the fact that silver need to be polished from time to time to keep it shiny! Cleaning silver can be easily done by soaping it, under the show (when wearing the silver) or in a little container with some soap and a tooth brush. Polishing with a polishing cloth specially made for silver or a silver bath are very suitable for cleaning silver as well. A combination of soaping, a silver bath followed by polishing with a polishing cloth will help the more severe discolorations. We offer free polishing cloths. You can contact us for these at
My gold plating has been discolored/tarnished, what now?
Our gold-plated jewelry is made of 925 sterling silver with a 14K golden layer. Our gold-plated pieces have to be take care of with thought, especially our bracelets, necklaces and rings. Avoid humidity, chemicals, perfumes and lotions and don't wear the jewelry while playing sports/working out, swimming, washing your hands and showering. An increased physical acidity can make the golden layer let loose. Avoid scratched on your gold-plated jewelry as much as possible as these scratches are the main cause of discoloration. Therefore, you need to be careful with your gold-plated bracelets, necklaces and rings because these are more often than not used in such a way that they are in contact with other objects/jewerly. Gold-plated earrings can most likely be worn 24/7. Just be careful when you are on vacation and full on in the sun.

How do I take care of my 14 karat gold jewelry?
14 Karat gold jewelry won't tarnish or corrode. However, with regular wear, your gold jewelry will eventually accumulate a film of soap, body oils and grease. The exposure to soap and chemicals can dull the gold, resulting into more frequent cleanings. It can also scratch or break down gold, which is a soft metal and can easily get damaged. Don’t wear your gold jewelry in the pool. Chlorine, like other chemicals, can permanently discolor gold. Store your gold jewelry separately. If you don’t have enough space to store each piece separately, try wrapping each piece in a soft cloth or in a plastic pouch. Hang up gold chains if possible. This prevents them from getting tangled, trying to untangle gold chains can easily break them. Buff your gold jewelry occasionally. Use a soft jewelry cleaning cloth and gently rub the surface of the piece. It can help restore the shine of the jewelry right away, without further cleaning. CLEANING: Mix a few drops of mild dish detergent with warm water. Soak your jewelry up to an hour. If your jewelry has stones, don’t soak it. Instead, mix the cleaning mixture and then dip a soft cloth into it. Then use the cloth to carefully wipe down your jewelry. Rub your jewelry one piece at a time. This helps you avoid scratching any of your other jewelry while you’re cleaning it. Dip the piece of jewelry in the soapy water, and then gently rub it with your fingers, you can also use a cotton swab. If you your jewelry is very tarnished, you can use a soft toothbrush. Be very gentle when using such a brush. Rinse your gold jewelry in warm water. Don’t put your jewelry away wet. Use a soft cloth to gently rub the jewelry until it’s dry. Clean your jewelry every 3 or 6 months.
